It is the first time for “island backpacking.”
Moreover, it is also the first experience of such a long journey,
spending as much as half a day traveling — 4 hours by land and 6 hours by boat.

As the saying goes that Ulleungdo only allows entry when it permits,
the variable of weather was always a concern.

With excitement, trembling, and expectation,
I joined the GoOut Super Hiking.

For a journey of 2 nights and 3 days, or rather 3 nights and 4 days including the preparation period,

the biggest worry was what to pack.

Just as memories turn into beautiful recollections after time passes,

the thought that comes even while packing is that
the trembling in the heart remains for a somewhat reckless challenge.

So even today, the packing continues.

Ulleungdo was beyond imagination.

It was completely different from the images seen in news or documentaries.

An emerald-colored sea, dense pine forests,
flowers and plants native only to Ulleungdo, and wide buckwheat fields.

There was not a single place that was not beautiful,
and it was a moment too precious to keep only in the eyes.

The checkpoint that appeared at the moment when breath rose up to the throat,

the sweeper who cheered whenever exhaustion came,

the thankful wind encountered while walking,

the leisurely and peaceful moment at the campsite by the sea.

The hiking with those who gathered simply for the love of nature
was a moment when an inexplicable sense of closeness could be felt.

When will it be possible to come again?

Having experienced the summer of Ulleungdo, suddenly winter is missed.

After backcountry trekking, I want to build an igloo and camp,
and also try gorosoe sap.

New experiences are always exciting,
so I want to share every moment with our crew and not miss a thing.

Hoping that unchanging nature will remain as it is,
I will take out the unforgettable moments of Ulleungdo
when life in the city begins to wear me down.
