Hearing daily news of snowy mountains made my body itch with anticipation.
While thinking about what the first hike of 2025 should be,
the Welter Experiment crew and I decided on a snowy mountain.
It was partly to set our minds anew, and also to find a bit of peace while stepping on white snow.
I hoped that walking through the quiet mountain would let me lay down the heaviness in my heart, even if just for a while.
Wanting to share this good spirit,
we invited the Austria crew and the Suunto crew to join us on the hike.
With so many people gathering for the first time in a while, the excitement grew even greater.
The most important thing to be careful about in snowy mountains is injuries caused by slipping.
Before the full hike began, we thoroughly checked our clothing and gear to avoid exposure to the cold.
Walking together with each brand’s team felt quite refreshing in its own way.
Even in our conversations, nature and the outdoors were the main topics.
Since we liked the same things, a sense of closeness grew easily.
Other than memories of walking tensely on snowy mountains, this was the first time I had such an experience.
The saying, “Mountains are good to climb alone, and also good to climb together,” came to mind.
By looking out for each other so no one would slip, we experienced the true charm of “sharing the snowy mountain together.”
Snowy mountains, mostly made of rocks, require caution to avoid slipping.
Since they are covered in snow, you must rely on all your senses with every step you take.
If you happen to step on a rock covered with ice, it could lead to a serious fall accident.
Therefore, one method is to clear the snow with a trekking pole or a dead tree branch before stepping forward.
After a fairly long hike, we stood at the summit.
With clouds and mist hanging over the snowy mountain,
it not only had charm but also gave off an indescribable sense of mystery.
Faced with the new scenery, my heart grew warm and tender.
